We started today off by feeding some pigs on the beach. I know it sounds a little ridiculous, but it’s true (continued…)

I’m not sure how it first began, but “Pigs Beach” has become a major tourist attraction in the Bahamas, and the pigs now rely on people to feed them their food scraps. The students loved interacting with the pigs and the photos will surely be entertaining. Then we headed to Thunderball Grotto for a snorkel through the limestone caverns of the grotto near Staniel Cay. In addition to being beautiful and full of fish and corals, the grotto is famous for being used in the filming of the James Bond film, Thunderball, and the movie, Into the Blue. After the snorkel it was time to journey our next 40 miles across the Sound to Eleuthera Island for another dive. We did two more dives, one before dinner and one as a night dive. This was the first night dive of the voyage, and it was super fun – so much to see and compare to our daytime dives. Yet again, another fun-filled day!
