Have you ever dreamed of wreck diving? The purpose of the Heritage Awareness Diver course
is to introduce divers to the field of underwater archaeology. The course will familiarize divers
with the theory, skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, hazards, importance,
benefits and enjoyment of diving on submerged cultural resources. The goals of the NAUI
Heritage Awareness Diver are (1) to develop the student’s knowledge of the importance of
conserving submerged cultural resources and (2) to enable the student to understand and apply
the rule: Take only pictures; leave only bubbles.
