Day 14 / June 29 – I continue to be amazed at the amount of fun AND learning we are able to cram into a single day, and today was no exception. We woke up early and headed to dive The Airplane wreck at George Dog Island. Today was the first dive included in our Marine Heritage Awareness Specialty Course. For about half of our divers, this was their first wreck dive and they loved it. The visibility was excellent and made for an amazing dive. We then headed to Pond Bay on Virgin Gorda to meet up with main program for ice cream and a game called “Turtle Hurdles” on the beach. Then students came back to the boat to finish the classroom portion of our Marine Heritage Awareness Specialty Course. The students worked in pairs to research different wrecks and present their findings in the form of a dive briefing to the rest of the group. We ended the day with a movie/discussion about ocean exploration and technology.
