We got an early start today so that we could head to the Baths on Virgin Gorda. The Baths is an area of eroded granite boulders that make for hours and hours of fun (continued…)

There are also a couple of nice beaches and a hiking trail. Students enjoyed their time at the Baths, and then we headed to the Moorings for some shore time and to reprovision. Then we learned about coral monitoring methodology on our way to Jost Van Dyke to meet up with Susan Zaluski and some of the middle/high school students she works with at the JVD Preservation Society. After some mixer activities and dinner, we went on a night snorkel at Little Jost Van Dyke. It was absolutely amazing! Perfect conditions for viewing nocturnal creatures – complete with a nearly full moon. For many of our students and all of the JVD kids, it was their first time ever doing a night snorkel or dive….and they all did fantastic. Can’t wait to do our first night dive! We had a great time and are looking forward to working with them again during our coral monitoring dives at East End Jost Van Dyke tomorrow. We ended the day with a traditional SeaTrek shower party – so fun!!!
