Diving Deep: The Chikuzen Challenge

Imagine descending into the depths of the Caribbean Sea, surrounded by vibrant marine life, and exploring the remnants of a historic wreck. This is the experience awaiting those who are lucky enough to take on the Chikuzen Challenge. Named after the iconic shipwreck located off the coast of Tortola, earning this sticker is a badge of honor for any aspiring diver. From the sunrise sail out to the dive site to navigating around the ship’s wreckage and checking out the exposed engine room, every moment spent exploring the Chikuzen is worth celebrating. Not many divers can say they have dived the wreck of the Chikuzen.

Scaling New Heights: Mahjohnny Hill

For those who prefer to keep their feet on solid ground, the Mahjohnny Hill Mastery sticker awaits. Standing at the highest point on Jost Van Dyke, Mahjohnny Hill offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding islands. Climbing to the summit is no easy feat, but the sense of accomplishment upon reaching the top is unparalleled. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a first-time adventurer, conquering Mahjohnny Hill is a challenge worth undertaking.

Skipper in Training: Dinghy Captain

The backbone of SeaTrek is the yachts that we are fortunate enough to live on during the summer. Every student is given the opportunity to learn to drive these big catamarans and the first step in doing this is learning to drive the dinghies. Our staff put the students through a crash course on how to start the outboard motor, steer the dinghy, and retrieve a “man-overboard” in the form of our good friend BOB (buoy overboard). Once the students have passed their dinghy course, they are well on their way to becoming the Skipper of the Catamarans.

Celebrating Success:

As the sun sets on another unforgettable day at SeaTrek BVI, students gather to celebrate their achievements at the Merit Sticker Ceremony after an island dinner with our friend Cynthia. With excitement and pride, each camper receives their hard-earned stickers, proudly displaying them on their gear or clothing. From diving enthusiasts to outdoor enthusiasts, the passing of the stickers is a testament to the spirit of exploration and the thrill of adventure that defines our summer camp experience.
